WD Photos cannot detect majority of pictures

Hi there,

I am using wd photos application for over a year, to reach my Mybook Live 2TB. In the beginning everything was just fine. Probably after some firmware update and wd photos updates, the issue in the title started.

I already investigated advised solutions, no help. I tried turning on/off remote access, rebooting, wd2go server rebuild (under advanced), switched to twonky (rebuild-rescan), back to wd server (rebuild-rescan), no way. Currently I am on twonky and it reports over 95K pictures (wd server were reporting over 100K 2 days ago, then switched back to twonky). Two android phones and an android tablet, plus an Ipad4, all at home network (all have latest wdphotos app), displaying about 700-800 pics.

I am able to use ssh mode and have WinSCP installed. Please advise me something, I can send necessary logs etc, as long as you tell me where they are. I am thinking of deleting current database to let it rebuild from zero, If I can find which files are the database for wdphotos app.

I need help, I appreciate if you can give some advise.

How many photos do you have on the Mybooklive.

Out of interest have you tried removing the app on one of your devices and the reinstalling it.

What firmware is on the mybooklive.

Have you tried deleting remote mobile access to at least one of your devices on the mybooklive and then connecting again. Remote access / mobile access / ‘device’ wdphoto delete.

Can you see any relationship regarding what photos are seen and those that are missing. For instance are there photos in the same folder with some missing and some seen or are specific folders all missing. You would have to check via a computer and wdphotos to see this.

I assume that they are all under the public folder still?

Thank you for answering me. Firmware line reads as;

MyBookLive 02.43.03-022 : Core F/W

upon your advise, I checked remote mobile access entries list on remote access tab, there were over 20, deleted all of them, uninstalled from my android, disabled and enabled remote access, reinstalled wd photos to android again. Result, same number of pictures. Several directories from folder public (which can be considered root for wd photos) not visible.

15 days ago, wd photos on all devices were reporting over 42K photos, after some rebuild, rescan etc, now its down to 761.

Wd cloud software can reach to pics and display them, no missing folders or files. Also, wdphotos continue to upload pictures taken to relevant folder, I can see them in PC, I mounted public folder, and can see all files are there.

Also, there is nothing special with the missing folders/pics. On the other hand, for ex., there is a folder in “shared pictures” named as “2013”, wdphotos displays 677 pics in it, in reality, there are over 10K.

Edit:   I made a *.jpg count and it appears there are 45127 “jpeg” files in the “shared pictures”. I believe there are more pictures in other formats.

Did you find any resolution to this? I have the same problem with my My Book Live using WD Photos.
