I know this topic has been covered, but I couldn’t find any recent posts, or any posts with a solution to this problem.
I’m using WD Photos on a iPhone 5s. I have deleted the contents of a folder on My Cloud, and uploaded new photos to the folder. The old photos were being displayed, so I clear the cache on my phone. After several hours only 4 of the 68 photos are displayed as thumbnails, and the rest are displayed by icons. I then went to My Cloud Dashboard, and rescanned the DLNA Database. No luck with that. I also made sure all the photos are .jpg files.
All the photos show up instantly on My Cloud app. Has anyone recently resolved this problem?
Thanks for any assistance with this.
WD Photos needs for the files to be transcoded before they can be displayed. Rebuilding the database resets the process from the beginning.
Trancer;
Thanks for the reply.
I only uploaded 68 files of about 1.5mgs each, and after 18 hours the changes made in the folder did not show up. Also I learned that one file I uploaded two days ago was not being displayed in WD Photos.
I do have good news. About 20 minutes ago I found the solution, on this board. From the dashboard I shutdown the drive, then closed my browser. After the drive shutdown, I unplugged My Cloud, waited about three minutes then plugged it in. The drive took about 3 minutes for it to reboot. As soon as the LED turned blue I then logged into WD Photos and all the new files were being displayed as thumbnails, and would open. Just before shutting down the drive I did check WD Photos and the new files were not being displayed. So this seems to have solved the problem.
I tried posting a link to the thread, but for some reason I can’t get the link to work properly. It is a thread started by ts123, back in Nov '14
