I got a new harddisk for my Mac. Restored some files from Time Machine. Now I want to try to install WD sync but it doesn’t want to.
After opening the file (http://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?p=266&lang=en) the is only a window saying “updating software” and a statusbar. But the window disappears after a few moments and nothing happens…

              Hello,
What’s the OS version?
Are you downloading the latest version of the app from the support site.

              OS is El Capitain.
I’ve download the only version of WD Sync I could find: http://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?p=266&lang=en But that is an update.

I am having the same problem. The installer downloads, but when I double-click it just does nothing. I had installed WD Sync previously with no issues, but now after uninstalling it and trying to reinstall it no luck. Does WD make any application to wipe all WD software from a MAC for a clean install?

4 months later, the issue stil hasn’t been resolved at my Mac. Still battling to get the right solution.
I’ll send your comment on this topic to the support team who is trying to help.
And you probably have a diagnostic folder filled with error files. Users > NAME > library > logs > DiagnosticReports > WD Sync Service_[date]-[computername.crash
