Hi Friends.
Bought my WD TV live hub last week and copied lots of movies under different folders.
When I connected it for the first time it showed all the folders and sub folders.
Later I created more folders and sub folders, and I switches the hub on,Mocha loads and the main screen appears showing the message “Updating the media library” on top. After that when I browse the video folders I can only see the two folders(and sub folders) that I created for the first time.
From the device options i do a “restart device” and after mocha loads and while its scanning the media libraries I press the OK button a message pops up like “Its scanning the folders blah blah” I press cancel there and it shows all the folders. If I switch it off and then turn it on again the issue pops up again, only the folders I created for the first time is seen.
I did it a couple of times, till the scanning media library is complete, even then I cannot see the latest folders.
Baffled. Can someone please help/
If those folders you created later don’t contain valid media, they will not be shown, they will remain hidden to the user interface until you put some media files into them!
These folders have valid media files. As I mentioned they will be shown and the media files can be played if I restart the device from Options menu, and then while “Updating media library” message comes on top I press the OK button and then cancel.
Again if I switch off the device and turn it on again these files are not getting dispalyed.
Ok, that sounds really strange!
Things to try if you haven’t:
Try copying those folders with media files to an external usb drive and see if the hub will list them from there!
You might also try downgrading the firmware to see if that changes anything!
Pressing the reset switch on the bottom of the hub for about 3 seconds!
Can you please suggest a proper firmware version.
Also please let me know if its possible to change the firmware without connecting the hub to TV display, if yes how to do that.
Let me also try the other two solutions.

I am having a similar problem - I have a folder that appears and disappears and there’s always movies in them.
I deleted 2 movies from it and copied 2 other movies to it and it will NOT appear on the WD but they will play from the DASHBOARD option - the blue button on the remove or natigating to the button on the top part of the screen.
Why will this folder not appear on the Wd but it appears in the Windows Explorer on the computer?
I know the network is set up right because the many other folders can be seen and play (except my .avi files - this last firmware update wont play them and reboots the WD.)
I did a device reset (“Reset All Settings Back to Factory Default ”) and now all the folders and files are showing on WD.
It did a complete scan from scratch and picked up all files and folders.
Let me add more files and folders and check if they are shown.
BTW I’ll try out the dashboard option also.

I had the same issue. Had 2 movies in a folder, the folder did not appear when listing with the Folder filter on.
When listing with filter All, I do see the movies and I can play them, so the files are supported.
When resetting it to factory defaults, as suggested by navarannan, the hub reindexes, which resolves the problem.
Maybe WD can make an option for reindexing in the system menu or something because everytime this happens I have to redo all my settings (language, subtitle, etc).

Will this re-index all the media files, what I meant by re-index is scan afresh from scratch, without changing the settings?
