Hi, I’m using the WD mainly with an NAS connected with a Wireless network.
Most of the times the Media Library function works well.
But sometimes when I’m looking for videos just the files on the Hub are listened.
When I use the “Files” function I can see all network drives, so network connection is given.
As this **bleep**, I’m thinking of using the Hub without the Media Library.
I have seen a tool called HubFlowApp which would write xml metadata into the video folder.
Would the Hub recognize this and show up these information without (!) the Library turned on?
Regards
Michael
Hey, many thanks for your fast reply.
How should I than act correct?
Press “Video” in the main menu, using then the red button, choose either “Media Server” or “Network Share”, navigate to the specific folder (e.g. Kid_Videos) and see than the cover of all videos in there?
It must be as easy as possible, as my wife also wants to use the player. Her wish is that it works with one-click
Kind regards

I would go with Network Shares, especially if you have external subtitles.
Basics you will browse your files as they are on your NAS, xml and any hidden files will not be visible.
I use WD TV Live Editor and WDTVHubGen to generate xml.
Sorry for my additional question…
You say I will then browse my files like normally on an NAS but xml files will not be recognized?
So how will the information I generate for example with HubFlowApp appear?

Not as individual files, but as file belonging to a video as when media library is on.
Just switch to Network Share and check it out.
OK, I will give it a try in the evening and will report
