Just got my WD TV Live Plus…I hooked it up to my Sharp 52" LCD TV via HDMI…Connecetd it to Seagate 2 TB Hard disk with 2 1 TB partitions…The box came with the latest firmware. I am able to navigate through all the files but when I select anyfile to play, notihng happens. I tried all types of files like .iso, .mkv, .mt2s, .avi, .mp4…But no luck. Somebody in other thread suggested to do Overkill reset…I did that to but no luck…And one more guy said he kept the Mediaplayer ON for about 3 hours and then it played…I tried that too but no use. It’s not even playing mp3 audio files…Any quick help is greatly appreaciated as I have only 3 days left to return it or else I need to send it to WD Customer service at my expense…
No, it DIDN’T come with the latest firmware. There was a new firmware released two days ago.
If it DID come with the latest firmware, that seems to indicate it might have been a RETURNED product.
When I reset it to Factory Settings , I see the latest firmware…So I assume the box came with latest firmware…Last night I have updated the firmware…Now, it stopped detecting the 2 TB hard drive…Is there any solution to this ?
Restoring FACTORY SETTINGS has NO affect on FIRMWARE version.
What I’m saying is, there’s no possible way you opened the box to find a unit with the latest firmware unless some other purchasor upgraded it and then returned it.
what menu`s you followed to get to the files you trying to play?
Because when i hooked it up first time i went into file management menu and from there i tried to play but nothing happened. But then i came to first menu where Video, Music and Photos are listed and played from there.
So maybe you are making same mistake.
