WD TV Live - Stopped playing media!

Hi,

As far as I have read I couldn’t find a solution to this problem. I would appreciate your help a lot.

Since last night, my player doesn’t run anything. I can easily see the content of my hard drives and all. But when I clicked to play. I get the blue screen and the load circle which runs forever but never starts neither movies nor songs.

I have tried to play content from both of my external drives on my computer, no problem there.

What could this be? Is there a way to reset the machine or any other solution that you can think of?

For some reason some files are not supported and they cause this to happen. Happend to me a couple of times.

No worries, its a quick fix.

In system settings, just reset the WD media player to factory/default settings.

All should be back to normal.

Glad it’s solved but the original problem most likely was you played a “bad” file (one made with MKVMerge greater than 4.0).  This will happen again if you play that file – either delete it or remux it with MKVMerge 4.0 or earlier.

I think this was the problem! I still have the file. I will try again to see if it happens! ( :

Hello, I have had the same problem. But saw that I must go first too my SHARED maps on my pc, by going in the WD TV live, first too Photo’s, and then you see all your SHARED maps  Also do set the audio-digital on digital settings, even when you use the optical out, just leave the setting in WD on stereo, then the reciever takes the digital output and voilá ! Greetings from Holland and what a great thing is this  The only thing is that with Windows 7, you cannot use the netwerk shared maps. Maybe WD is reading this and a UPDATE Is coming out for this soon ?!
