Hello everybody
my wd-tv gets stuck when I play certain video files randomly. when I play the movie the simptoms are :
it gets stuck the second I start playing it
the movie playes OK but you cant stop it or do anything
I must reboot the WD (take out the power cord , ! the remote control is useless at this point)
the display of the movie name and the time that goes by is stuck on the screen and doesnt disappear
if it happened once or twice i wouldnt complain about it but I have allot of files that gets stuck and I hope to find a solution
or at least find the reason
thanks everybody
I"ve had this happen on occasion as well lately with both a Live and Live+ and it seemed related somehow to the wireless adapter I was using (both devices have done it with the TEW WiFi USB key but nethier did it while wired). Rebooting usually fixes the problem but on one occasion I had to do a full factory reset.
I have noticed the same problem. It appeared after I have updated to the latest firmware. It’s rather anoying and I am considering on going back to the older firmware prior to this latest one but I am unable to find it in WD’s website.
I now have to reboot every time I watch movies using this device. Very annoying!
Perhaps someone here can point out the url to me? Thanks in advance for your replies.
Same Problem. Since upgrading to 1.05.04 they system routinely hangs up on local files and files from our network. We have tried rebooting but it doesn’t work. Now we are searching for the previous versions or some other way to roll back up the update. Don’t you just love it when the mess up a good thing!
Yes, very annoying indeed! Now we have to wait for a patch or another firmware update. Tonight, I went to the menu
in my WDHDTV Live Plus player and did a “reset to factory default”. I am hoping that this might resolve the issue.
I’ll see if I have time to watch to play a movie tomorrow and see if the problem is resolved.
downgrading to last version fixed it
thanks
downgrading to last version helped
thanks
The Reset to factory default did not resolve or fix my problem. I downgraded to the version below this latest one,
1.04 if I remember correctly, I watched one movie last night and it didn’t get stuck. I still want to try more movies
however, before I declare it fixed. Wish me luck.
Although generally I have following another promising route to resolve these problems by looking at alternative customized firmware from wdlxtv.com, but it is pretty complex to implement. I still have some units running the WD 1.04.05_V version and I have reduced the problems by turning off the sharing. This still allows each unit to go onto my network to find the media but doesn’t share any physically attached media back onto the network. Sometimes it works great, sometimes there is up to a 4 minute delay before a movie starts, and sometimes the movies just continue to play for 4 minutes after you cancel them and even push the power button on the remote. I hope the next WD version will put us back on track with this very useful and enjoyable product.
Rolling back my firmware from Version 1.05.04_B to Version 1.04.31_B appears to have fixed my problem of stuck playbacks.
I hope I won’t come across any more problems.
