WD2002FAEX-007BA0 Caviar Black

I’ve been having issues ever since I bought the drive but I did not realize it was the HDD causing issues. I’ve had the HDD for approximately 15 months. In the past 3 weeks the system has been “stalling” and freezing, taking ages to boot - and if that was all - on several ocassions after turning the system on, it would just get to the windows splash screen before doing another “cold boot”.

According to SMART Status the drive passes. But according to the EXTENDED TEST the drive fails. The test code error is 08- Too many bad sectors detected.

I’ve run the extended Test twice but it did not complete and came up with the error listed in the photo. I have run all the other disk checking tools - like CHKDSK. The rate of failure is increasing dramatically each time I turn on the computer.

Would this be suitable for a RMA?

Thanks Hammey

I’ve never had to do a RMA before so this will be my first time.

Douvie.

Got an RMA #

Now I’ll need to get it out of my system - I built my own system. I’ll have to pop and another drive in for the meantime.
