I just picked up a WD2500 (250 gb internal drive)
I installed it into my PC
When I started my computer, it is telling me that the drive is only 31.4 gb. Its missing almost 200 gb!
How could this be remedied?
Any ideas?
Thankyou!

i think thats derivated from an old BIOS ![]()
some bios bug reading the HDD specs
Some IDE drives had an “alternate” jumper setting to account for certain BIOS compatibility issues. You might like to rule out this possibility first.

Alternatively, it could be that your drive’s capacity has been limited by a HPA. In this case you should be able to restore the drive’s full native capacity using HDAT2 or the HDD Capacity Restore Tool.
