the HDD is fairly new… but since i bought it looked like it was having power faillures…
since i was using it for SWAP and it was causing windows XP to bsod… i changed the power cables
but then it still continued happened ocasionally…
sometimes the “drive G” that is assigned to this HDD disappears and the “delayed write faillure” messages from windows appears… but then it gets back minutes after…
one day i performed a full chkdsk on it… and ~3MB of badblocks appeared
now i installed the LifeGuard diagnostics and it’s a constant fail on quicktests
the HDD is partially accessible… but i think it’s dying…
i initially tought it might be due to a bad idle bug… but a search said to not use the permanent fix tool
on an EARS hdd so i didnt tried anything to not make it worse…
anything that i can do to fix it?
