WDTV Live gen3 - reboots

I have a new WDYV Live gen3 that keeps rebooting whenever connected to the network - wireless or hardwire - I have updated with the latest update thet were released recently.

The unit is the second one - thought the unit had a hw defect and had it replased - same result.

There seems to be a firmware error when connected to the network!!

Is ther anyone that have a solution for this problem - the unit ia useless.

I have a gen2 that works OK.

Have you gave one of them a different name in  “Device Name” Network Setup.

What brand of router do you have?   There have been numerous reports of issues with Virgin Superhub for one…

Have you tried disconnecting all the other stuff from your network to see if you can narrow down which device is causing the reboots?

Thanks for your response - Using a Cisco router (do not have the exact version)  - Have tried to disconnect all other units with the same result - will have to check once again (my son might have connected some units lately) and will have to check if my gen2 WDTV box has the same name.

Could wish for a popup msg with possible cause of the incident instead of just a reboot.

Will check tonight and come back!!

Problem has been solved - were about to return the decice but decided to make a last reset - held the reset button in for 20 seconds and the unit were up and running as expected - all works fine!!  

I just wonder - I did reset thr unit several times earlier with negativ result and I did try to downgrade the firmware to 1,10,x - downloaded version 1.10 from the official site and ran the installation - OK - until the unit were rebooted - “You are using unofficial firmware” - downloaded then the latest version again and did the install - OK - unit rebooting untill I did the “long” reset!!

Reboot problem solved!!  -  thread closed.
