Hi. I have tried searching for help through the forums, but have not found any help that I can follow. So apologies if this has been covered previously, but I am a numbnut!!

I have bought myself the WDTV Live Hub and filled the 1TB drive with movies. It works a dream and I’m really happy with it. I have connected it to my wired network and am able to get Internet. Looking at the network settings I can see that it sees my ‘Workgroup’ and has an IP address assigned. All good (I think)

The ReadyNAS Duo has a 2TB drive in. It is connected to the same router and I have installed the RAIDAR software. I have configured it (to the best of my knowledge) and have turned on NFS and the Media Sharing. As far as connecting goes, it too has an IP address and I can see the folder location from my computer and I can read / write to it.

My problem is that the WDTV Live Hub doesn’t see the ReadyNAS. I can, however, see my PC.

Please, can someone either point me to a step by step guide on how to make the connection or provide me with some steps? I ONLY want the ReadyNAS to stream movies to the WDTV Live Hub and I have exhausted my (somewhat small) knowledge. Both these are brand new and I’m happy to start again if needs must.

I had the same issue and it turned out to be a master browser issue. Once I got the ReadyNAS to be the master browser, the hub could see it. Watching Jumper from the NAS over the Hub right now actually.

Anyway, pulll up a DOS window (start, run, cmd) and run: nbtstat -a

Filling in the IP of your NAS, your router, the hub, your PC, etc. until you find on with __MSBROWSE__ or something like that.

In my case my Linksys E3000 was in the workgroup ‘WORKGROUP’ just like everything else. It was becoming the master browser, but had no storage. Changing it to be in another workgroup and rebooting everything got it working for me.

Best of luck. I with we could just type in the path to the share and not rely on magic discovery.
