WDTV vs WDTV LIVE

Hi,

what are the difference between WDTV & WDTV LIVE?

Difference I see on WD website was LIVE plays MPEG formats.

I want to put WD media player in my room and watch (mostly AVI file) on my computer share folder.

would anyone advise which player i should purchase?

Both player have built in WIFI?

thank you

You’ll have to be more specific.

All WD Media players are called “WDTV” (with one exception; the Elements Play.)

Which are you asking about?

WDTV HD

WDTV Mini

WDTV Live HD

WDTV Live Plus

WDTV Live Hub

WDTV Live Streaming Media Player (SMP)

WDTV Play

You’re posting in the forum concerning the Live HD and Live Plus.  NEITHER of those devices have built-in WiFi.   Only the Live SMP and Play have built-in WiFi.

there are 3 players on the website.

WDTV - model#  WDBMBA0000NBK

WDTV LIVE - model# WDBHG70000NBK

thank you

The first one is the WDTV Play, which has its own forum:

The second is the WDTV Live SMP (Although that page you reference has the wrong name, the part number is correct.)

That has its own forum, here:

The Play doesn’t support network shares.   All other “Live” products do.
