WDTVLive Livingroom+WDTVLive Bedroom. Sharing network and playing movies?

please help me

i have a wdtvlive in my livingroom, connected to a usb hd (where i download all mye files and movies)

i have a wdtvlive in my bedroom, and i want to be able to play movies on both devices from the usb hd in my livingroom.

how do i do this?

it worked once but i cant remember what i did. BUHUUU

anyone knows this?

on the WD with the harddrive connected

network settings - share out the media

on the WD with no hard drive

connect to network shares

done so mister. but still no drive showing in network shares.

share out = network share managment+windows share network?

and if i need to select what to share, how do i do this?

you don’t select what to share, it shares out any and all drives connected

check the workgroup on both devices should match

also I recommend check from a computer, just to see if you can find the WD share under network

this would confirm it’s being shared out, if further if you can access and play files on PC

then you can turn your attention to the other WD

might be worth checking what device is the master browser on your network as well

okay. shall i turn off the network share managment on the one not connected to the usb hd?

i reset both devices now and will start from scratch. 

any settings done on my computer which can mess things up?

done and dit works.

just reset all setup and installed hd after.
