Weird WD TV Live Problem

Hi,

couple of days ago my remote started acting odd. It’ll allow you to turn the box on and maybe one or two presses of ‘ok’ but after that no response. I’ve done a hard reset of the system but the problem remains. What’s especially annoying is that following the reset I need to add my wireless password but I’m unable to because of the remote problem. If could get wifi enabled I could at least use the android remote on my phone.

I’m not sure if the problem is the remote itself or the WD TV box. I’ve logged the problem with WD via their customer service email but does anybody have any similar experience? I’m not able to use the device at all at the moment and its upset the whole family!

I assume that you have tried new batteries? Also make sure that there are no other remote signals conflicting and that sunlight is not interfering with the signal. Test the remote by pointing it at a digital camera / phone camera and pressing a button or two. You should see the Infra red led light up. Also try unplugging the player from power for 10 minutes and then plugging it back in.

To add your password you could plug in a standard USB keyboard and use that.
