I’ve set up my My Cloud and have access via iOS devices, but I was trying to log in to the web-based remote access and encountered a login that I can’t figure out. I can log onto wd2go.com successfully, access the drive successfully, open the folder in exporer successfully, but when I try to open a document, I am given a user/password box to complete prior to downloading a document. Has anyone else experienced this? What credentials are needed at this point?
Hm that’s interesting that it lets me do that. I am able to copy to my desktop and open without the prompt. I also am able to save to the folder without entering credentials. While this is helpful, it doesn’t solve the issue, specifically when trying to play music or look though photos.
That is definitely a good start though. Is there anything else you would try?
Do you use a password to access the computer ? Although i normally copy the files to the computer if i have to modify them so i can make sure no one is using the files at the as me time.
I do use a password to access the computer I am currently on. I also have a password on the computer that set up the My Cloud. Neither combination worked. The prompt says it is trying to connect to wdmycloud-deviceXXXXXXX.wd2go.com. Since this is the case, I tried the login for the wd2go.com site and the login for the device. Neither worked.
what are you trying to open the file with? some apps do strange things when opening files, there have been reports of this with MS Office and I think others as well. since you can copy from the mycloud and save to it it does not seem like a mycloud issue
The document I first encountered this issue on was, in fact, an Excel spreadsheet. The same thing happens for all of the files that I’ve tested though. Is this something that can be fixed by removing a password?
I don’t know the real issue although Open Office dose not have a problem with the mycloud
I don’t believe it is really a password issue so nothing to change. try testing it with the public share, this way there is no WD passwords involved. I suspect it will still error but let us know the result
