What format should my external hard drive be?

Hi, I have just bought a WD TV Live Streaming Media Player and I only have a mac and I want to transfer files over 4gb to my external hard drive ., I know fat32 format is not an option with files of this size so what format should I be using on the external hard drive, will mac osx extended non journaled work ok?

Yes.  Non-journaled HFS+ will work fine.   Journaled will work, too, as I understand it, but it will be READ-ONLY.

BTW, you’re in the wrong forum.   This forum is the old 2009 model.
