Has anyone successfully used a usb adabter playing 1080p movies with no glitches. If so what kind. And i would like to use a dual band setup. I know i could use a wifi bridge but would rather not.
Yes, I’m using the cisco wusb-600n with linksys e3000.
I have a Netgear WNDR3700 simultaneous dual band wireless router and a Cisco/Linksys WUSB600N dual band wireless adapter. Works great! However, they are only about 30 feet apart and through only one wall… so I get full 5 bar signal strength which probably helps a lot.
ok i bought the wusb600n and a dlink dir 825 and it does connect and i can stream netflix. The dir 825 has a usb port on it so i can plug in my hard drive. I can see my hard drive on my computer but i had to load a dlink share port utlility. Any idea how i can get the wdtv to see the hard drive
You’ll need to enable those functions and configure them in the DIR-825 setup.
I dont beleive its possible, you have to load a porgram onto the computer from a disk that comes with the modem from dlink. I can have my hard drive thats connected to my router that shows the hard drive under the “computer” tab on my wireless desktop upstairs. Then connect the wdtv player to that computer to access the my hard drive. But it will not play mkv files without lagging. I beleive to make it work im going to have to get a nas drive that i can connect with a ethernet cable. Im guessing the way its connected right now that the hard drive is sending the movies to the router then to the computer back to the router then to the wdtv player.
Hello my friend.
Yes I do.
I have a TP-LINK model TL-WN7200ND usb wifi adapter.
There is a RT3070 ralink chipset onboard.
This is a N network adapter and is working fine at 125 Mbps with my N TP-LINK AP.
The 1080p movie is on my Popcorn A110 disk (wired connection at 100 mbps on my network).
Regards.
Works fine for me using network shares from computer, but can have a few glitches when my external hard disk or my lads xbox360 mains adapter are too close to the wireless adapter.
Am using a Belkin F5D8233-4 router and a Belkin F5D8053v3 wireless adapter.
I have the following router and dongle and I can stream 720p MKV content fine, not tried 1080p as my TV does not support 1080p.
