Can anybody assist with the following problem ?
I have a small LAN comprising
a) Windows 10 laptop
b) Windows 7 laptop
c) 4TB WD MyCloud Home
d) 2TB WD MyCloud
e) A few other devices, but nothing relevant to this topic.
The Windows 10 laptop was added a few months ago. Since then, I have not been able to access the MyCloud via the Windows 10 laptop, although the MyCloud Home works OK on that laptop,. Both drives can be used on the Windows 7 laptop with no problems.
If I now focus on the Windows 10 laptop …
I can run MyCloud.com / setup and see the dashboard exactly as I expect. The Shares on the MyCloud are visible and so are the Users. Disk space usage is correct. If I view the Network via File Explorer, I can see both the WD devices. I can use the WD MyCloud Home without problems. However, if I I click on the Network device for WDMYCLOUD, it does not display my Shares. I just get the error “Windows cannot access \WDMYCLOUD”. The error code is 0x80070035.
The fact that Windows 7 is able to see & use both Drives and Windows10 can see the MyCloud on the network suggests (to me) that the problem is with the Windows 10 configuration rather than the WD device setup. Reading through the various threads in this forum, I see that many people are either having or have had problems getting the MyCloud to work under Win10. So I started to implement the fixes suggested by others. So far, I have done the following
- Reboot of Network router.
- Reboot of WDMyCloud.
- Setup a Windows Credential for the WDMyCloud.
- Edited the Registry to ensure that SMB 1.0 is enabled.
Following each of the above steps, the Win10 laptop was rebooted. So far, none of these fixes have made any difference. The problem still exists. I’m now running under OS 5.18.117.
Can anybody suggest other ideas ?
Thanks, Keith
