Works OK, but LED is Red?

I have a 4tb unit, and I’m a little confused about the LED. I’ve had it several years, and as far as I can tell, my Windows 10 backups are working fine. I can access the folders within the unit using \wdmycloud in File Explorer, and browse for individual files.

If I reset or power cycle the unit, the LED flickers blue for about 10 minutes, then steady blue.

If I try to log into the unit via the icon listed under Storage in my Network, I get a login prompt and the led turns RED. If I proceed, the home screen shows up after about five minutes. The Diagnosis tab shows OK, and the notifications show the drive is 95% full and the power failure I induced. Is that enough to cause the led to go Red?? Dismissing the alerts doesn’t change the LED.

I wouldn’t even to need to go in through the console except it appears to be the only way to create new shares if I add a device to backup.

The WD My Cloud Home doesn’t have a RED Led … only White.

Sounds like you’re in the wrong forum topic.

@jjgurley Do you know what WD device you own? You should post in the correct WD Community forum for your device.

What Forum shows a picture that looks the most like what you own? See example image below. Click on, tap or activate image to enlarge it.

From the images, mine if the OS3 version (not on any label, so forgive my confusion). I’ll go there.
