Question from newbie; how can I access the dashboard from outside my homenetwork?
You may have problems doing that. Use the following link for more information.
I found the following on cisco support forums thread 2261525 and can be used to open and see your shares if you want to.
1) Open Java Control Panel
2) Click on Security Tab
3) Click the “Edit Site List” button
4) Click Add and type your TMS server URL in to the Location box (ie http://tmserver/tms/)
5) Continue past the warning about http sites if you used http rather than https
6) Click OK out of the Control Panel
You can try your device address to open the dashboard.
Example (http://183.000.1.000).
I try to start the dashboard via IE via http://cloudname-devicexxxxxxx.wd2go.com/ui/ on a desktop outside my own network. But the screen seems to freeze with a message on the screen “verification in progress” ( message translates from Dutch “verificatie proberen”)
That link has nothing to do with the dashboard.
The configuration of the WD will prevent you from accessing the dashboard outside of your local network.
I have exactly the same problem. What are the solutions?
You would have to change the configuration files of the Apache server, using SSH, etc… This is beyond my competence, but you will find posts where advanced users will point you in the right direction.
¿Alguna solucion a este porblema?
