I have attached my 500 gb HDD to the WD TV Live via the USB connection. This works fine as far as playing content from the HDD. Now i’m trying to access the HDD with my mac. For the windows, this seems to be possible with the WD TV discovery software.
The manual on p.70 suggests to a)connect the usb hard drive to the media player (check) b) ensure they are on the same network (check) c) open a finder window (check) d) in the finder, click shared, the media player is listed there (check) e) click the device, the USB drive displays. And this ain’t a check… Instead, i have the option ‘connect as…’, which i click. The it asks for a username & password, or to connect as a guest.
For now, i can’t find a username/password anywhere, dont seem to be able to set this in the settings of the WD TV anywhere, and can not access the WD TV as a guest… So what to do?
