Hi.i have mycloudex4 with 2 hard disk 2t ,it’s almost full , I want to add one more hard disk or maybe two .so my question is : can I add more hard drive without losing data on old 2 hard drive .just adding more space ??
Hi there, yes you can add another internal hard drive for more space. If your current two internal hard drives are under RAID 1 (mirror) you can either ‘migrate’ to RAID 5, or ‘create a new volume’ and add the third drive as JBOD. If you select ‘switch to’, you will lose data on the current drives. If the current drives are not mirrored, you can add the third drive as JBOD.
Hi. Thanks for your reply. The two HD are 2tb mirror to each other. So if I add another HD. Can I make the 3rd HD separated from the 2 the old so it will be 2x2tb mirror + 1tb without losing any data.
