right now i have a 3TB hard drive in my cloud EX2, if i add another hard drive to it will it format both hard discs or just the one disc?

Are you adding a second drive as a mirror, or for additional space? I think at this point, you have the option of adding it as a mirror (in which case, you must select “migrate to RAID1” and not “switch to RAID1”, as the latter will reformat both drives), or as a second, separate volume. I don’t think you can add it as a RAID0 (striped) or spanned volume without reformatting both (though I might be wrong on the spanned option).
