Amazon

Will we be able to use Amazon streaming?

Only via servers such as PlayOn.

We can only dream…

A Roku has Amazon Prime, and it works well there.

Get this: the new Google Chromecast gizmo has Netflix, but not Amazon Prime.  Funny thing is, why not?  The Chromecast is one of the hottest selling products at Amazon these days (#1 in Electronics).  You’d think these two ginormous corporations could get their collective act together!

Obviously not in the crazy world of Intellectual Propertiy/Licensing.

Did you read in the news that Netflix is working with Comcast in US to just put Netflix on one of their channels?  No extra box needed.  Article said this is already happening with a few cable providers in Europe.

Got a Chromecast this past week for a b-day present (even though I said I did not NEED one),  Well, I find I actually do have a use for it:  taking it along on a trip next week to use on TV in rental home where we will stay so we can watch Netflix or YouTube – if we have time for TV!

But like I said, I don’t need it, in fact, since my little Kindle Fire HD has HDMI out, we can watch Netflix, YouTube, and even Amazon Prime by plugging Kindle into the TV.  Aha, gadgets.

I really hope we do at some point because this device really is great and this would complete the package IMO. In my opinion, AIV is far better than Netflix.

  1. You get it free with prime which by itself is worth every penny with free shipping
  2. Larger/better selection of free movies
  3. Can rent any new movie, not to mention they pretty much have every movie and a lot of them are free

It’s just such a good service and IMO needs it.

It’s like having a hot dog with no toppings. Just doesn’t make sense.

Since I got Amazon Prime after getting my Kindle this summer, I have noticed many videos that were streaming on Netflix are gone, but still on Amazon.  There are many on A/P that I never saw on Netflix, and they are good ones, too.  Netflix is dropping the ball it appears.

Having tried most streaming services hulu,Amazon, lovefilm,Netflix I got to say I reckon Netflix with unblock us or any of the region switching services is by far the best alternative,if you take the content from all 11 regions put together it is huge and some really interesting stuff for £5.99 + £3.00 for unblock us. Not knocking any of the others but they can’t compete with that. If it wasn’t for wanting football on sky I reckon I could drop all other paid services and just use Netflix.
