Another pics not showing up thread

I purchased a 1TB my book world edition which I received on Saturday and have been trying to figure it out since then.

Having tried various ‘fixes’ from this forum I had to factory reset the unit due to networking problems and losing quite a bit of data in the process …

Anyway now when I start WD Photos (Android) and login it shows two devices WDStore and StorageWD, WDStore is no longer required anyone know how to get rid of this ?

The next problem is the missing photos, I am currently backing up approx 80GB of photos and 30GB has been transfered so far, but I am only seeing 3 photo’s in the StorageWD device, these 3 photo’s are no longer on that drive, I only used them as a test, none of the other photo’s are showing.

My camera creates a jpg and a nef file and I have backed up all to the ‘Shared Pictures’ folder, I am only expecting to see the jpg pics.

I am using Synctoy to back up as the WD back up seems to bury the pics in a nest of folders…

I can see the pics in my WD Live HD Media player which have been transfered so far.

Can anyone advise what I am doing wrong or advise a solution.

Make sure to clear the Cache on your Android device. Depending on the number of .jpg/.jpeg files, the transcoding process can take up to two weeks. You should start seeing photos immediately, however you will not see all of them.

If you are not sure if your Android’s photo cache (a .db file) is current, enable hidden files/folders on your computer (for Mac use TinkerTool), then look in the Public directory for a file called “.transcodingdb”

The file’s time-stamp will let you know when the last file request was sent from the WD Photos app. Please make sure the drive’s date and time are current, or this time-stamp will be inaccurate.

Thanks for the reply, this morning I have 1295 photos according to my phone, I was wondering what mybook was doing, I geuss I just have to wait for it to finish.

In the transcodingdb folder there are about 12 files, shall I delete the older versions or just leave well alone ?

Please do not delete any of the transcodingdb information unless Support is doing it as part of troubleshooting (E-Mail/Phone)
