Are there any specific settings which impede/improve LAN transfer rates on this box?
Im getting 4.7 MB/s and while I do understand its proicessor limited in the box, 4.7 MB/s on a cabled fast LAN connetion is really poor, im guessing there must be something set which is cuasing it.
My machine is Win7 64bit and the Router is a Linksys 4 port N class router, BOX is connected to the HUB as is my machine. Anyone know of any settings this box doesnt like?
I have a similar problem sometimes I get 7 MB/s when I’m lucky, but verry often it get slow, now in this moment I get only 1,78 MB/s. Anyway even if the initial speed is about 7 it ofen get slower after a bit and get stable at about 4 - 5 MB/s.
I have a 10/100 modem with a cat 5e ethernet cable, I did transfer test with other product and notebook and I get well good speed (allways at least 9 MB/s stable).
When I transfer a file into the unit I do not use other web application or p2p program or similar to try save more bandwidth
So it’s a hub problem, probably the unit doesn’t use enough processor power when transfer a file.
When I transfer files my hub is not connected to any video device does it matter with the problem?
The comunity wrote a lot of thread about this problem but even in the last firmware there aren’t improvements in network speed…I hope WD can find a solution becouse it’s realy annoiyng to wait 2 hours to transfer a 10 GB file.
Can you provide more information in regards of your network settings and configurations, 4.6 MB/s is a bit slow, normally I get between 7 to 9.
What’s your network setup? Are you using 1Gb/s switch/Router? I reached your numbers on 1Gb/s network connectivity but over 10/100 Mb/s network the max number was 5 MB/s…
I use a cat 6 ethernet cable and a 1GB switch (Netgear). I usually get around 6Mbps when ripping from a pc to the Hub. When I rip to the MyBookLive it is a much faster transfer.
