Audio output via HDMI AND optical out?

HI there

I connected my WDTV Live SMP (Gen3) via HDMI to my TV.
My TV is connected via Toslink-Cable to my AV-Receiver.
Because of the fact, that my TV doesn’t send DTS-Audio through HDMI I also connected the SMP with Toslink to my AV-Receiver.

I don’t watch every movie with my Sorround System.
I have the following choices in the settings for Audio-OutputAudioausgängen nur diese Möglichkeiten:

  • Stereo
  • optical
  • HDMI

(sorry - I don’t know the correct expressions because I use the SMP in german)

With the optica-option the TV will be without sound, when choosing the HDMI-Option there is no sound via the AV-Receiver.

So - do I have always to toggle between the options - depending on which way I want to listen to the movie or ist there a way that the audiosignal can be send in both ways the same time?

Hi there, unfortunately the WD TV is not able to send the audio signal through HDMI and Optical output simultaneously. 

Yoy can porst this on the ideas section. This way someone from WD will be sure to see it and will allow more users to support your idea. However, I would first search and make sure that there are no other active Feature Requests suggesting the same or similar improvements. If there is, then you could add your post and vote on it.
