I’m looking for a solution to back up data from my server to a nas drive in another location to prevent data loss on catastrophic failure on the server location.
So the server will be in different location (and network) than the nas backup and the data transfer must be done via internet.
The WD My Cloud EX2100 would be ideal for my system, since it has two drives in RAID 1 and the price is suitable for my budget.
Can the EX2100 be setup to do this kind of backup? If not what kind of system would be good for this kind of setup?
I tried to ask this by the “email support” form and it failed every time I tried to send it. Maybe it’s time to look other solutions as it is so difficult to get support here.
You can backup the EX2100 to another EX2100 unit or a 4100, but not an actual computer. Here is a link that might helo explain how remote backup works on this units, I know its a different product but, it is a similar process, hope this helps:
