Best (and easiest) method for off-site backup?

Hello.
I would like to backup my shop files (approx 11 gig total) to MyCloud device attached to my home router.

At the moment, I am transferring the files using WD Sync. It is taking quite a long time to transfer the 11 gig of data.
Is there a better way or other software that would work better / faster?

I figured that having the cloud drive setup as a networked drive that I could access on my shop PC would be best, but it appears that feature was removed from the device a couple of updates ago.

I mainly just want to have a remote location to store my important files so if I have a failure, fire or theft at the office, I will have a backup to restore all of my files. I do not necessarily need the dropbox style functionality.

If anyone has a step by step or a video tutorial - that would be great. I have a basic understanding of setting up the router for home networking, internet, etc… But I am more of a novice when it comes to more in depth features of the router configuration - such as accessing it as a network drive from a remote location.

Thank you very much for any help or advice.

Do you have the single bay, single drive WD My Cloud? If so I would suggest a more expensive WD Pro device and write it off as a business expense on your taxes. See the following, http://www.mycloud.com/Learn/?language=en , you may want to look at some of these and check out their User Manuals to see which one will work the best for you.

I have been looking at the My Cloud PR2100.

Hello. I already have the 4tb basic my cloud so I would like info that would work with that. Thanks

If you do not want to use a newer/better device that supports remote offsite backup then use the forum search feature, magnifying glass icon upper right, and search for offsite backup or remote backup. There are a number of past discussions on trying to backup a single bay My Cloud to a remote location. the problem is the single bay My Cloud may not officially support remote offsite backup which means one has to use an unofficial, non WD supported method, to accomplish the task. This may involve using SSH to create that backup script.
