If the box is off, the TV reports no signal. When I turn it on, the TV reports an incompatible signal. To “fix” it, I have to do a full power cycle, either by unplugging it, or holding the power button for several seconds. On the successive reboot, it boots up fine. This occurs anytime the system has been off/asleep for a few hours or longer.
I’m on my third WDTV Live. The first one did not exhibit this proble, but the second and third did (each one had different issues, as WD has never heard of quality control). I’ve tried different TVs, different HDMI cables, and even tried standing on my head. Tried forcing HDMI 1080p @ 60hz, factory resetting, etc.
What am I missing? What is causing it? Why two consecutive boxes?
