Do I need to jumper my HD to go to 3.0Gb/s? It goes 6Gb/sec now. And my SATA connection on the motherbord goes up to 3.0 Emailed the Dutch WD support on last weekend. No reply yet… (one day-response?? right…)
In the HD manual it says that normally one does not need to jumper.
But I do not know if not jumpering will cause issues.
It feels save to jumper so both speeds become equal. But this is just a feeling.
Hi it is only on a very old chipset like a sata 1.5 Gb/s that you would need the jumper. The drive will auto negotiate the speed just fine.

I’ll wait for closing this one untill I got seconds/thirds to back it up, or oppose it.

I have been ‘helped’ to much in the past to bet immediatelly on the first horse I spot.
Don’t get me wrong. I will coodo if it will be due, but for now, I will wait it out.
