Cannot access My Cloud Dashboard

I have had two My Cloud 2T NAS drives for over two years and have had very little problems with them. For some reason I wanted to try to put an app on the one NAS (we will call it My Cloud One). I couldn’t find a way so I updated the firmware. This is when all “HELL” broke loose! It updated the firmware but would not finish rebooting. I decided to reset the drive with the 40 second method. When I finally got it to reset, it had changed the name back to My Cloud (not My Cloud One). Now, the only way to access the drive it to go through Windows File Explorer. I have tried numerous times to access the dashboard but always get either 403 forbidden or 404 forbidden faults.
I decided to transfer almost everything off of it to my other WD NAS named “My Cloud Two”. Now the only thing on the first WD NAS is just copies of what I transferred off. The last straw was that I had to make a new account for it and when it rebooted the NAS it took overnight for it to do …something, I don’t know what it was trying to do. It was stuck in some sort of loop. I’m thinking it was trying to update the firmware again.
As I said before, I have tried almost everything short of setting it to factory status. I still cannot access the dash, which I want to do to change the name. It has gotten so convoluted that I’m not even sure which direction I need to go anymore. My biggest concern is that I don’t mess up my other NAS drive by mistakenly accessing it. I’m pretty sure I won’t, but you can never tell. Anyway, please help! I’m hoping that if I reset it to factory condition maybe it will work. Then I will transfer my files back to it. If that is a better work-around please let me know. Thanks!

UPDATE:
For some reason I tried accessing in through IE rather than the Opera browser that I normally use. It actually accessed it and allowed me to change the name. As I write this it is now creating a safepoint on another NAS drive for safe keeping. I still don’t know why this all happened. I don’t care much for IE, so I will try accessing it in Opera again after the safepoint is done.
