I have a Seagate 1TB external drive connected to my MyCloud unit. I have previously created safe points on this unit and there is enough free space, Now when I try to create a safe point i get the following message Your safepoint cannot be created due to a failed request. Please try creating your safepoint again. (36123)" Any ideas how to resolve this issue. I also can only connect MyCloud to my iMac as a guest and not as a registered user.
Have you searched the Knowledge Base or wait a while and try again?

As a troubleshooting step, if you haven’t done so already. Use the My Cloud Dashboard to eject the USB hard drive, then shut down the My Cloud. Once the My Cloud is shut down, remove the USB hard drive from the MY Cloud. Power the My Cloud back on and wait for the My Cloud to finish booting up to a blue front LED. Then connect the USB hard drive to the My Cloud. Open the Dashboard and check the Shares page to see how the My Cloud is listing the USB drive Share name. There was a problem in the past where the My Cloud would append the USB drive Share name with a “_x” where “x” was a number. If this happened the Safepoint may fail due to not being able to find the USB hard drive.
If the USB drive Share name is not appended with a underscore and number then try manually running a Safepoint.
As a last resort one could delete the exiting Safepoint (and files from the USB drive) and try creating a new Safepoint.
This may be a separate issue. As a troubleshooting step ensure the My Cloud has either a reserved IP address in the network router or that one configured a static IP address through the My Cloud Dashboard > Settings > Network section.
As a further troubleshooting step, use another computer or mobile device to access the My Cloud to see if the issue is confined to the one Mac computer.
One may also, as a troubleshooting step, remove the My Cloud password/login from the Key Chain or Credentials manager on the computer, then reboot the computer and try to access the My Cloud again.
