Can't access private resources

Environment: Windows 10, Norton Security. My MYCLOUD has Public and Private resources. I have no problem in accessing the Public resources but access to Private is not accomplished. The dialogue window to set up the connection is shown but access is not permitted . WDMYCLOUD is shown in the network entry of the File Explorer pane. Users have been defined with passwords in the unit and full access to the resource declared. Deactivation of Norton makes no difference.

Can you post a screen shot of the error message? Or report back with the exact text of the error message?

There is a limitation with Windows that prevents using two ore more (different) user logins to NAS drives like the My Cloud. Typically the solution is to disconnect any mapped My Cloud Shares. Access the Windows Credentials Manager and remove any entries for the My Cloud. Access the My Cloud Dashboard and ensure one User has access to all the Private Shares you are trying to access. Then use that Dashboard User and password to access the private Shares.

I had already eliminated the authentication entries in Credentials (in
one PC where it worked before). I have also eliminated all users in the
NAS unit but one. Same negative result basically saing that the resource
cannot be accessed and , in Swedish, saying essentially what you say.
As you can see from the enclosed screen shot there is one PUBLIC mapped
resource (Shared Pictures). I have had this working earlier but I cannot
remember how.

In addition to my previous reply: The following seems to be the recipe

  1. Eliminate ALL (even PUBLIC) mappings of the NAS resources

  2. Eliminate ALL WDMYCLOUD authetications in W Credentials

  3. For each separate PC account use ONE NAS User only to access the
    Private resources wanted

  4. Connect this user with one of the NAS Private resources (this
    establishes the necessary matching)

  5. Remap the PUBLIC resources

This was certainly NOT deductable from the relevant documentation
