Can't access WD MyCloud with iPad 3rd Gen because no App

Hi, I just purchased and installed a Western Digital MyCloud Personal Cloud Storage 4 TB.  I wanted to access media from the MyCloud with my iPad 3 (“third generation”).  I scanned the bar code on the quick installation sheet with my iPad, was directed to the WD website, which said the requirements for the iPad to use the App (“WD My Cloud” App) was IO6 or higher.  Then taking the link to the Apple App store to get the App, the description said required IO7, and refused installation of the App stating that my iPad did not have IOS7.  My iPad 3 has IOS 6, the maximum, I believe, with this iPad.  Can anybody tell me if there is WD MyCloud App somewhere WITHOUT the IOS7 requirement?  Maybe even a Cydia App, as my iPad is jailbroken.  I would really like to access media files on this WD My Cloud drive with the iPad.

Thank you, in advance, for your help.

Don

P.S.:

This is ridiculous.  I bought this iPad at $600 a few years ago, now am refused to use any of the Apps at the App store.  I wish I could complain to Apple company about this.  I was thinking of getting an iPhone next year, but maybe not, with this experience of refusals of Apps installations for the iPad.

iPad 3 runs iOS 8. update and then install the wd app. you will lose your jb, though.

I thought it had maxed out at IOS 6 on the last jailbreak, but I had seen something recently showing that the iPad 3 supports some features of IOS 8. If that is the only solution then it could be some time before I access the wd mycloud, as I don’t have time to reinstall the ios on the iPad right now.

Okay. I did install the mycloud App by upgrading to iOS 8 and can now access the MyCloud with my iPad 3. I spent some time creating backups of files on the iPad, hoping I could at least erase the iPad for a like-new iPad; However, it carried over everything (including unwanted browser adware). At least now I can be permitted to use other Apps from the App Store that I was refused before. Another problem occurred, with my new Windows 8.1 Pro OS on a new hard drive, the computer wouldn’t start up because of hard drive error. I don’t know if hard drive failure is an issue with MyCloud software installation or if is a coincidence that the hard drive was a lemon and went bad at this occasion. Also, involved with this is the installation of iTunes required to install iOS upgrade on the iPad. So, I don’t if to take this up with Microsoft or the hard drive manufacturer. I have some other questions, but maybe I should start another thread because a different subject and could help others needing the information. Thank you
