Can't perform admin tasks on my WD cloud

Hi,

When I start WD My Cloud there isn’t any login page and I directly get to the home page without any admin capabilities.

I can’t see or create any share…

I go separately to https://www.wd2go.com/submitLogin.do which lets me sign in but this doesn’t seem to provide me with any admin access to my cloud.

My userid is admin on the cloud with a green check mark over my name…

Anybody sees the problem?

Pierre

what exactly does “When I start WD My Cloud there isn’t any login page” mean?

you should be going to http://mycloud/UI for admin tasks, the user & password is the 1st user you create

When I start the WD My Cloud application, it opens IE at this address : " http://192.168.1.111/UI/".

When I first used this application I was able to create a couple of users (including mine as first user) as well as few shares.

Now when I get to the " http://192.168.1.111/UI/" page and click on “Shares” to go to the Shares management screen I don’t see any shares in the lefy-hand side box… I can’t use the “+” button to create new shares.  It simply appears like I can’t do any admin task…

Also, when I go to the “http://mycloud/UI” URL, I get a “This page can’t be displayed” IE error message,

not sure. Did you save the login information in the browser? Or manually entering it after going to the UI?

If stored I would clear that and try it again.

If not stored you may want to contact WD support or do a system only restore

Thanks for this answer.

I did a System only restore (as instructed by WD) and let this operation run for more than 2 hours without getting an end to it…

I then installed “WD My Cloud dashboard” on a second PC and when I start it I get the same result.

As I start it, the last message I see (it rapidly disappears) is “Attempting to authenticate” and then there is no possibility for me to perform any admin task (e.g. create a user, create a share, etc.)

Something I could mention is that I created a password for my userid (which has admin rights) and then I set my userid with no password (moving the password switch to “No”)…

I can use my existing shares but I can’t do any admin task…

… when I say “as instructed by WD” I mean that I read the instructions…

Hello, Is there a means to submit this issue to WS support team?

Thanks,

Pierre
