I bought  2 / WD1002FAEX (new) over a year ago and have never been able to use them. They were only to be used for backup and files. My BIOS shows the HDD’s but Window7 doesn’t. To make sure SATA Port was working, I installed a WD1001FALS and it worked just fine. The SATA Ports are 3.0 - WD1001FALS are 3.0 and the WD1002FAEX are 6.0 - I was wondering if that could be the problem ??? I did recieve a RMA # for these last year - but that may have expired by now.

I even tried using 1TB for OS - BIOS recongnized HDD but Window7 did not while loading OS. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

did you initialized and format the drives on disk management?

you can try jumper 5-6 to go back from 6.0 to 3.0

If the drive shows on the Bios the drive IS working…

Thanks a million. I initialized 1TB and it works great. No need for jumper. My OS HDD’s are “C” - My Optic Drive is “D” - My 1TB is “E”. Are these OK or should I change their order ? Again, thanks a million. You saved me some needless RMA’s.
