So, I see that guests can access the drive when on the same network. Is there anyway to turn off, or require a pass word so not just anyone can access the files? Tthanks.
Hi, as far as I know, the Public share is the only one that will always be public for anyone on the network. All the other can be changed to private in the dashboard.
Cant you just delete the “Public” share (using the dashboard)? I cant test to delete mine because I have files in the share. But there is a delete share icon.
edit: I just watched a video of someone trying to delete the Public share. It said deletion is “forbiden.” https://youtu.be/zvfnOSNyNAQ?t=7m25s
But for another model, someone said you can rename the public folder, then it glitches and enables to turn off public view.
I don’t think its a good idea to delete the public folder. I’ve seen people able to change the permission of the shares via ssh.
