I have recently bought a WD TV LIVE device. I have a LAN with two PC connected and WDTVLIVE, which is connected to my router with a cable. The network shares work fine for me, both the media server solution (I have WINDOWS 7 on my “Media” PC) and the Network sharing solution.
The only troubles that I am having are with the connection to internet. I have firstly tried to use the automatic configuration of network properties: IP 192.168.1.1, DNS 192.168.1.1 and so on. I pass network connection, but not internet connection.
So I have inserted directly and manually the DNS of ISP, 212.216.112.112 and the TEST works fine, it says that I am correctly connected to the web.
The problem is that when I connect to media services I cannot access to any of those: Youtube, flickr, accweather. Actually, yesterday evening, accweather worked for like 10 seconds, I don’t know why.
I cannot even update my firmware directly from the device (I mean thorugh internet). I have manually updated the firmare to 1.04.something through an USB pen drive.
My router is very simple, it doesn’t have internal firewalls, it is a router of my ISP company (telecom italia: I live in Italy), and from its page I can only open some ports, but I have mostly no options at all.
