It did not reappear after the 2.42.115 on the network and was on the red light, I made 40 Sec reset and currently it is flashing blue for 10 minutes & counting.
I need clarification if the 2.42.115 is OS3-based or OS5? My device was already on OS5 months before this problem starts.
Will keep waiting for a couple of hours to see if the reset will help and if this blue flashing will be stable or not. If not, will rework the whole scenario again and try again the My_Cloud_GLCR_2.41.121 and see.
Can you ping it? Flashing blue tells me it is not successfully getting an IP address from the network. So - - -something is not right. Start network troubleshooting (router ports; cables - etc.)
I used the firmware My_Cloud_GLCR_2.41.121 which apparently got me connected to the network and I can see it on the network and access the dashboard, however, it says that no configured volume.
I have “no volume” configured and not sure how or why as I have went step-by-step as the guidelines. I activated the SSH and not sure how to check or reset-up the volumes. I queried “mount” and received this:
%root% on / type unknown (rw)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
/dev/ram0 on / type ext2 (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (defaults)
mdev on /dev type tmpfs (defaults)
proc on /proc type proc (0)
cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup type cgroup (rw,memory, cpu)
/dev/sda3 on /boot type ext4 (rw)
/dev/sda7 on /usr/local/config type ext4 (rw)
/dev/loop0 on /usr/local/modules type squashfs (loop)
tmpfs on /mnt type tmpfs (size=1m,nr_inodes=0,noexec,nosuid,nodev)
tmpfs on /var/log type tmpfs (size=40m,nr_inodes=0,noexec,nosuid,nodev)
tmpfs on /tmp type tmpfs (size=100m,nr_inodes=20000,noexec,nosuid,nodev)
/dev/sda4 on /mnt/HD_a4 type ext4 (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,noatime,nodiratime,barrier=0,usrquota,grpquota)
nfsd on /proc/fs/nfsd type nfsd (rw)
Can I fix this by SSH, or I need to go through the entire thing once again…? Or is it maybe because of the “server down” on https://status.mycloud.com/os4
As troubleshooting step post unbrick when one can reach the My Cloud Dashboard but there are errors, is to do a System Only Reset to see if it clears the problem.
Also, if the My Cloud Dashboard Settings > Utilities page has the option to format the drive, try selecting that to see if the clears the “no volumes” error. If there is a Storage tab in the Dashboard, select it and see if it gives an option to create a volume. If so create a “JBOD” volume.
There is no storage tab, however, when I clicked on creating RAID, it gave the option of creating JBOD and PASSED the DRIVE self test and was GOOD and it recognised that it is 3TB…
Now the JBOD is created and a new volume_1 is formatted
When all is done, it is now in RAID mode, 2.94TB of storage is now available, and it automatically had 3 folders for the Shared (music, pictures, videos).
Currently upgrading the firmware to 2.42.115 and will keep you updated.
After many many times resetting, updating, upgrading and restarting while nothing works and despite having the HDD passing the JBOD test as good, suddenly it started showing the HDD as bad.
I replaced the HDD and though I could not have the old way of operation back to normal, I managed to complete the JBOD and having the HDD setup and currently working. It is slightly different than what I used to have, but at least it is working.
My next move is to create a FREENAS at home with multiple HDDs so I am not bound by the slavery of WD and its products that really wasted a lot of my time and upset me.
Thank you guys for trying to help. You are all great.
I know this is an older thread, however I used this method and now I’m back to the access of my cloud. The problem is no matter what I do I can’t sign into WD My Cloud with the admin. I’ve tried all the method found on the web. I used firmware 2.42. I also tried the 4 40 sec reset. how can I get back into my drive?

If you’re still using OS 3 you should post your topic in that sub-forum. This sub-forum is for OS 5 single bay WDMYCLOUD. The image below is from my 2nd generation MYCLOUD.
