I am pretty good with Hareware/Apps/Net. But I must be slowing down in this cloud. I am just getting to the point to copy/transfer from Win 10 to the Mycloud. When I put the little window icon hand on the file everything looks ready to be drag I keep getting "a message that read “I need permission…”. And if anyone can’t clear the cloud up a little more tell me how to create a holder.
Are you using Windows File Explorer to copy the files?
Is the Share (folder) on the My Cloud where your attempting to copy files to configured for Private through the My Cloud Dashboard?
What is the full exact wording “permission” message that you are getting?
In certain cases, because of User Account Control (UAC) on Windows, one will need Windows permission to copy (or move) Windows files from one location to another. Most times one simply clicks the OK/Allow button and the copy will begin.
click on WDMYCLOUD
( four folders appear
Tom,Publis,smartware,Time…)
In File Explr I click on Tom
4.a Windows Security box opens with the wrong user id but I choose another account
I type in user name
I type password
How ever now thats not process not sure if UI/password problem
I will be glad to send additional info once I get the new problem corrected.
Just type UI no password and got to folder then tried to copy it worked.
I download manual, this is where I must be doing something wrong.
I put the password in because it has a spot for it.
I have a sub folder off a folder named Tom, not sure how I did it, three days ago.
