I have just purchased a new Western Digital 1 TB internal hard drive, but computer will not recognize it. It shows in Device Manager but does not show in Disk Manager. Can anyone help please??

Have you tried to connect the drive with different USB cable or with different computer?
Alex, I have tried EVERYTHING listed on the website and absolutely nothing works. I first bought a mitsubishi hdd and it would not work so I sent it back and got the Western Digital, but it is no better…so frustrating !! The drive shows up on computer management and says it is working ok, but it does not show up on disk management.
