Error "attach a supported WD Drive"

Brand new My Cloud Home 4TB. Installed OK, is visible in Win10 File Manager (mapped as Y:). Also visible via Chrome (My Cloud Home). File synch’ing between the two is also working fine.

But the WD Drive Utilities app fails to detect the drive at all. It just says “Attach a supported WD drive”. The WD Backup app can’t see it either – all it can see is Dropbox.

I’ve checked services.msc. “WD Drive Manager” has a startup type of “Automatic” and its current status is “running”.

Any ideas? This was an expensive piece of kit and it’s a bit disappointing if I’m not going to be able to use any of the WD Apps.

See the dedicated subforum for the My Cloud Home device. This subforum (My Cloud) is generally for the single bay My Cloud device which is different than the My Cloud Home.

See the My Cloud Home support site for WD Downloads that support the My Cloud Home line of products.

Best guess (not having a My Cloud Home) is the WD Drive Utilities app and the WD Backup app do not support the My Cloud Home products.
