I updated EX2 Ultra with newest version of 2.3.165 and I realized that the HDD is continuously spinning after I stepped out for a while. No laptop/Portable devices access my EX2. I firmly believe it was the fault of the update firmware. In the previous version, HDD does not running with fading LED out if the case is 15(?)min of idle time.
As the previous poster indicated, try turning off Cloud Access in the My Cloud Dashboard > Settings page.
You should also post in or search through the dedicated EX2 subforum to see if people more familiar with the EX2 Ultra may be able to assist or if there are other discussions with solutions. This subforum (My Cloud) is generally for the single bay/single drive My Cloud units.

Does it make any reason for the HDD to be spinning at high speed . As Cloud service also works in conjunction with the client access demands. I know the WD red drives can work on low power state.
