I have a query regarding My Cloud EX2 Ultra’s external rear USB 3.0 ports:
I have seen that whenever I connect an External HDD to one of the two USB ports on the rear of the EX2 the unit does NOT go to sleep after a while like it does when I don’t have the External HDD connected. I have the Power Saver mode set to ON and usually the unit lets the drives sleep after about 5-10 minutes of inactivity and (denoted by the slow pulsing blue LED on the unit). But when I connect an External HDD all 3 LEDs stay alight and the unit remains awake continuously even though I’m not accessing any of the drives.
Is this suppose to happen? Does the EX2 keep the drives constantly ON if you connect any external storage devices to the USB ports at the rear of the unit?
My EX2 is running Firmware 2.40.155 and has 2 X 2TB WD Red (JBOD). I’m connecting a 1TB External HDD (non-WD).
