After updating the firmware, my Panasonic smart TV is having issues connecting to the DLNA server on the EX2100. I have to hit the connect button on the TV remote 5-10 times before the EX2100 shows up as an option.
Once I was able to connect, I noticed that most of my video files showed up in triplicate. I have seen this issue before and doing a database rebuild fixed the issue. Not this time. In fact, all the information regarding number of files by type disappears after hitting the rebuild button. Nothing ever updates. I rebooted the EX2100 but the problem persists.
After another reboot I was able to get the rescan to “work.” Since there were no changes, I didn’t expect anything to happen and it didn’t. The rescan was very fast and testing the TV for the DLNA server resulted in same failure to connect and finally showing the triplicate files.
I then tried the rebuild function again and it “worked.” The rebuild took a couple hours and I could tell it wasn’t going to fix the issue as the reported number of files was way off. I let it run to the end and then checked the TV. All the same issues persist.
One strange thing is the TV reports my laptop as a second DLNA media server but that laptop has sharing turned off and its IP address is also listed on the EX2100 with media player turned off.
No Plex. It is whatever the EX2100 uses as default. I haven’t changed any settings other than to select Media Streaming “ON.” This was working fine before the firmware update.
Try the factory reset. Go to the support page for your device. Look in the FAQs for how to reset the device. Choose your device from the products listed. read and follow the instructions for resetting.
I performed a system only restore and that cleared the database triplicate error; however, my Panasonic Viera still can’t connect to the DLNA server. In the list of servers, My Cloud shows up for about 1/10 second and then disappears.
The router has a static IP address, but the other devices are technically dynamic; though the router does keep the IP addresses the same unless it is rebooted. I can see the Internet from the TVs browser, so getting through the router to the modem isn’t a problem. All the computers in the house can see the My Cloud but I only have the one smart TV. I can reboot the router, but since the TV can connect to it for other services, I don’t think that is the issue.
