I have a win7 box and 2 EX4’s, NAS 1 is my PLEX server and has internet access, it only has Plex and DLNA turned on. NAS 2 is only my backup and does not have any internet access only local network or any app turned on. I do not streem anything outside my local network from either NAS. all was working well (well as good as it gets given the issues Ive had setting this anchor up)
After upgrading to 2.10.302
NAS 1, Dashboard is slow, I can get in but all clicks tend to take a lot of time
NAS 2, when I open an explorer window and click on NAS 2, it takes the entire time out to display the shares in that NAS, once it does all is good untill I close all my explorer windows then it has to go through the time out before displaying the shares in NAS 2 (NAS 1 Does not do this). I work around by mapping a network drive to one of the shares on NAS 2 and no issues waiting for the time out. When I disconect that network share, back to waiting
BOTH NAS’s, gone from a just bearable 50 MB/s to a dismal 30MB/s, weather its from NAS to NAS or from my Win7 box to either NAS or visa versa, both NAS’s are moving files at a reduced speed…VERY PAINFULL
I have tryed Shutting down and rebooting and disconecting the power (entire network not just NAS’s) with no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions ? or could someone tell me how I can go back to the previous firmware as I dont need all the flash new features or eye candy as these NAS’s are only a local media server and a dumb backup
Also had issue with this upgrade. Getting a timeout when I copy a file from my EX4 to my machine. Weird that it does not happen when I try to copy movies. Last thing I did to make it work was restore the system do the defauly and leave my files unchanged.
I’m not sure if this will help. For now I use the IP address to access my NAS. The name takes too long to connect.
BTW the copying issue got resolved. Slow respones when I use the name sill an issue.
I just discovered a very different problem. My EX4 auto-upgraded to 2.10.302 while I was out of town and I didn’t discover the fact for several days after I returned. My primary problem is that Thunderbird (38.3.0) Lightning (4.0.2.1) on my Ubuntu 14.04 workstation stopped working. It will not allow me to create, modify or delete a calendar event. All Thunderbird data is in a dedicated folder on the EX4. Prior to the upgrade to 2.10.302 everything worked fine and everything except the calendar is still working. I went into the EX4 and discovered that the calendar database (local.sqlite) had not been accessed since 7/22/2015, just before the upgrade took place on the morning of 7/23/2015. Since it has permissions set as -rwxrwxrwx I doubt that it is a permissions issue.
As a test I copied the Thunderbird data from the folder on the EX4 to a new folder local on my workstation and reset profiles.ini to point to the new location. The calendar promptly resumed proper operation and I could create or modify events as needed. When I point back to the folder on the EX4 the calendar problem comes back, convincing me that my problem is with the EX4 firmware 2.10.203.
Needless to say I have turned auto-update off but I’m still stuck with the calendar problem. I would rather not revert to a previous EX4 firmware if there is a reasonable alternative. Suggestions?
