Have to unplug my WD TV Live to boot it

After I’ve had my WD TV live off for a few hours and try to start it, it doesn’t seem to start properly. The little light turns on but nothing shows up on my screen. I’ve realized that it’ll only start if I unplug it and then plug it in again. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi,

It happens to me once, I did a hard reset on the unit and it fixit the issue.

How to reset the media player

Happens to me periodically.  Probably once every 7-8 times I turn it on.

Hard reset did not help.

Would love a solution.

Are you using HDMI. It may be that it is not connecting correctly to your TV and you may just need to change away from the HDMI input on your TV and then back.

rickUK is correct…

Happened on my Live Hub Yesterday …

  1. The Live Hub (connected via HDMI)  and my TV were both in “STANDBY” mode

  2. I powered up the Live Hub via the “POWER” button on the Remote … BUT i didn’t turn the TV ON

  3. Left the Room, and came back a few minutes later

  4. Turned the TV On … NO PICTURE  (on HDMI1 … where i have the Live Hub on)

  5. Left the TV ON … Powered down the Live Hub and Powered it back on…

  6. Picture Came on Fine.

Conclusion:  Turn your TV on 1st,  then your Live Hub or SMP 2nd  when using HDMI

(Same thing happens with my Raspberry Pi … it’s a HDMI handshaking problem …

adding  hdmi_force_hotplug=1 to my RPi config file, fixes it … a shame there isnt a similar setting on WDTV Devices.)
